I've gathered links to information useful for reporting and freelancing. I use the links to work on Comm-Stop, the site for my students at the University of Arkansas at Monticello. During the school year, Comm-Stop features news links from Arkansas, Louisiana, national and international sources, normally updated every Tuesday and Thursday. Beat Sources links contentious issues, including the First Amendment, abortion, business, capital punishment, corrections, drug policy, elections, environment, immigration, national security, science and transportation. Federal Government links the Executive Branch, Legislative Branch, Judicial Branch and, most importantly, the Bill of Rights. Research links journalism references, editing references, information science, public opinion resources, content analysis, newspaper miscellany, archived news, communication journals and other journals. Reference Shelf links word references, style manuals, grammar usage, fact books, geographical maps, debunking pages, encyclopedias, biographical information, news photos, news services and syndicates, name & phone directories, time, statistics and layout & design. Search Engines should be self-explanatory. The Southern Compendium links media, government, culture, business, education, A&E and sports Web sites about the South. Thanks for droppin' by; send appropriate links to sitron45 at hotmail dot com. If you've kept up with Web sites for any length of time, you know it's a pain keeping good links.
