Welcome to Opie's take on the story behind GRASSMUSIC FOR THE ERA, the music that's developed quite an underground following.

Jeff Davis and Jonathan Taylor produced, engineered, and arranged the album that compiles the sounds of various musicians from Central Arkansas and the surrounding areas circa 1997. It's quite unlike most things you've heard before. And that's good ...

For those of you who have experienced it, you know what I'm talking about. For those who haven't, first you have to find it -- no small feat since it's been out of print for a while. Nevertheless, if you can find it, take a listen; but first, get in the mood to listen. Open your mind, however you have to prepare yourself to do it. Taste a bit, and you'll find yourself filled with sounds from my home. Play it a few times, and you'll be unable to get the tunez out of your head.

While I've been asked to discontinue the original GRASSMUSIC for the ERA Web site, I've decided to post my portion of a project that took pieces of my heart and mind just before I turned to academia. So find out a little about the roots of GRASSMUSIC and see some of the lost photos. Read a review or two to get a critical examination of the disc. I imagine GRASSMUSIC FOR THE ERA is currently available by snailmail. Drop a line to Jeff or JT!
