Yep. Just like a sheet blowin’ in the wind, we’ve changed the look again.

We’ve turned the Southerner Journal into an Independent Feature Outlet from the American South. Rather than go through all the reasons why, let’s just say life takes enough time managin’ the day-to-day. So instead of wastin’ time tryin’ to be a lil’ of everything to everybody, we whittled it down to something a little more manageable.

Finally, you may notice occasional lags between posts. We’ve got real lives around here, workin’ real jobs, payin’ real bills. This site doesn’t pay the bills. If you like what you see and would like us to spend MORE time puttin’ it together, donate to the cause. Otherwise, be like the rest of the gang in “Cool Hand Luke” and watch while the rest of us do the heavy lifting.

  1. I am attempting to locate the person who could grant me permission to re-publish an article on Willie Morris written by Will Norton around 1999. I have a web site, http://www.hottytoddy.com, and Willie was a dear friend. Dr. Norton is now Dean of the Meek School of Journalism and New Media at Ole Miss. He has given his permission but I feel I need the publishers permission as well. Please advise me at edmeek1@gmail.com.
